Scarecrow, Scarecrow

This cute blackline book was created to correlate with Linda Williams' The Little Old Lady That Wasn't Afraid of Anything. The book has blank lines for students to write the numbers 1 and 2 on (advanced kids can write one and two) and pictures to color. But, best of all, they will quickly learn to "read" this easy book! It is also great for teaching the sight words I and see! Click on each page shown to download and ENJOY!

Brown Bear, Brown Bear

We created a 10 page blackline book based on the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin.  This book gives your students the chance to recreate a smaller version of this wonderful color book of their very own!  Each page has a character from the book to color, and a color word to trace!

Bug In a Rug

To play,  you need to print 1 bug page, and a rug for each color you want to review.  Color each rug a different color, color the bug however you wish, then cut out the pieces.  (You might want to laminate them for better wear and tear.  If you do, it makes a GREAT pocket chart activity!)  Place the rugs in various places on a pocket chart.  Have the children close their eyes, then hide the bug behind one of the rugs.  Then teach the following to the students:

"Oh, have you seen my little bug?"

"I think he's hiding in the ______ rug!"

The whole class says line one together, and a student of your choice says the second line, filling in the color of their choice in the blank.  For instance, Jeffrey may say," I think he's hiding in the  blue rug!"  Then Jeffrey gets to go to the pocket chart and pull out the blue rug.  If the bug is there, he gets to hide it next.  If the little buggy isn't there, he chooses another player to guess. This game is a lot of fun to play!  Enjoy!
